The Foundation, having received a bequest from Alberto Giacometti’s widow Annette Giacometti (1923-1993), holds the world’s largest Alberto Giacometti collection (circa 5,000 works). It also holds a rich collection of archives and documentation that illuminates Giacometti’s art: the artist correspondence, manuscripts for published texts, notes and sketchbooks, copper plates, as well as a large part of his library: magazines, books, exhibition catalogs, newspapers, some of which contain his annotations or drawings.
